The case I chose was The New York Times vs. Sullivan.
Although the case is not a libel case, it is one that is considered an "actual malice case" due to the fact that libel did not exist in 1964.
Apparently an article was run called "Heed Their Rising Voices" which talked about the freedom fighters all around the southern states and the struggles they were having. It mentioned how police officials were tear gassing, as well as hosing down the protesters with fire hoses while they attempted to buy coffee.
What I find so intriguing about this case is that the Sullivan was suing The New York Times, when his name wasn't even mentioned in the news article, but rather the police force he was on. He won his case against The New York Times and was granted $500,000.
